After obtaining my Bachelors degree in fashion design (1996) and graphic & web design (1999), I further developed many skills in various companies that would benefit me in my future career; among others as a Training and Support Engineer for a software company and Multi Media designer for a small software company that did not survive the burst of the Internet bubble in 2000.
At age 30 I moved to New Zealand with my family to start up a new life, which gave me the experience of a lifetime. Although mother of a young child, I’ve always worked full time, both as lecturer graphic & web design for AUT and front end developer of online training material in Auckland as well as running my small graphic design company.
Back in the Netherlands I established Bilingual Kids, the first Early English Language Institute in the Netherlands that provides lessons to children as an after school activity. I developed a unique curriculum for ages 4-10 and grew the company to a nationwide franchise organisation with branches in 10 major cities in the Netherlands. After 11 years of pioneering, I successfully sold the business. I am still the owner of Expat Kids besides following my new passion as a yogi-preneur.
